#How fast does the ball get to home plate after the pitcher has thrown it..

When a pitcher releases the ball..

90 mph , a batter has about .4 of a second before the ball crosses the plate.

It takes about . 25 of a second to actually swing the bat.

This leaves the batter .15 seconds to make the decision if he is actually going to swing the bat, when he swings the bat , and where he swings.

Remember, soft toss is about quick hands and teaching the strike zone. Hands and eyes work together.
